Amazon has announced plans to add 250,000 seasonal jobs nationwide, including 7,000 in the Tri-State area, while committing more than $1 billion to pay and benefits. The company reports it has invested $52.3 billion in New York since 2010.
According to Amazon’s newsroom post, the company is creating these seasonal roles across its U.S. fulfillment and transportation network for the upcoming holiday season. Seasonal employees are expected to earn an average wage of more than $19 per hour, with job listings being posted weekly from October through December at amazon.com/localjobs. Amazon notes that many seasonal hires transition into longer-term careers, making this hiring surge part of a broader workforce strategy.
