The Bureau plans to release August’s State Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey estimates on October 22 at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Time.
This information is drawn from the Bureau’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), which provides insights into labor demand and workforce turnover using model-based estimates that incorporate multiple data sources including sample surveys and employment statistics programs.
Definitions provided by JOLTS clarify that job openings count positions available on the last business day of each reference month if certain conditions are met; hires refer to all payroll additions within the month; separations include all payroll departures categorized as quits or involuntary losses such as layoffs or discharges.
