IAM opens applications for 2026 scholarship competition

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will begin accepting applications for its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition on October 1, 2025. The application window will remain open until February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. All entries must be submitted online.

The competition is available to IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. Details about the application process, eligibility requirements, and official rules can be found on the IAM Scholarship Competition page.

In the previous year, over 300 individuals applied for the scholarship program. Sixteen scholarships were awarded in 2025, each valued at $4,000 per student. Both traditional academic scholarships and a vocational-technical two-year scholarship are offered as part of the awards.

The IAM Scholarship Fund was created by delegates to the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention and is dedicated solely to supporting these educational awards.
