IBM has announced the launch of IBM Digital Asset Haven, a new platform aimed at helping financial institutions, governments, and corporations manage their digital asset operations. The platform is designed to cover the full lifecycle of digital assets, including custody, transactions, and settlement. It aims to help organizations meet compliance requirements while offering integration capabilities.
The development of IBM Digital Asset Haven was carried out in collaboration with Dfns, a provider of digital wallet infrastructure. According to IBM, Dfns has created 15 million wallets for over 250 clients. The partnership seeks to address the increasing adoption of tokenized assets and stablecoins by providing a secure environment for institutions seeking to modernize their offerings.
IBM Digital Asset Haven includes several features such as transaction lifecycle management across more than 40 blockchains, governance and entitlement management with multi-party authorization workflows, integrated third-party solutions for services like identity verification and financial crime prevention, and holistic security with advanced key management options. The security framework incorporates Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Hardware Security Module (HSM)-based signing using IBM Crypto Express 8S HSMs embedded in IBM Z and LinuxONE systems, as well as quantum-safe cryptography guidance.
Tom McPherson, General Manager of IBM Z and LinuxONE, said: “With IBM Digital Asset Haven, our clients have the opportunity to enter and expand into the digital asset space backed by IBM’s level of security and reliability. This new, unified platform delivers the resilience and data governance they have been asking for, empowering governments and enterprises to build the next generation of financial services.”
Clarisse Hagège, CEO of Dfns, added: “For digital assets to be integrated into core banking and capital markets systems, the underlying infrastructure must meet the same standards as traditional financial rails. Together with IBM, we’ve built a platform that goes beyond custody to orchestrate the full digital asset ecosystem, paving the way for digital assets to move from pilot programs to production at a global scale.”
IBM expects Digital Asset Haven will be available via SaaS in Q4 2025 and Hybrid SaaS using LinuxONE or IBM Z in Q4 2025. An on-premises version is planned for release in Q2 2026. More information can be found on IBM’s product page.
IBM states that future plans for its products may change without notice.
The company provides hybrid cloud and AI solutions along with consulting expertise across more than 175 countries. Its platforms are used by government agencies and companies in critical sectors such as finance and healthcare for digital transformation efforts.
