The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will include community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a series of panels and workshops focused on a theme that is yet to be announced. The ILCA supports labor communicators throughout North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.
DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director for the IAM Union, currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.
The IAM Communications Department, along with its districts and locals, has received recognition over the years at the ILCA Labor Media Awards Contest. This contest is noted as the largest and longest-running competition in labor communications in North America.
Recent winners from IAM Union at the 2024 ILCA awards include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster”; Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team for third place in Best Print Publication for their Summer 2023 issue; and Ross Olson for third place in Best Design – Single Issue Publication.
Past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communications professionals to exchange best practices across North America.
Registration for the convention is open to all interested parties; membership is not required to attend. More information can be found by visiting https://ilcaonline.org/.
