Employment in Maine’s Cumberland County remained steady from March 2024 to March 2025, according to a report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Mark J. Maggi, Acting Regional Commissioner, stated that employment in York County declined by 1.2 percent over the year.
In March 2025, Cumberland County had higher employment numbers (188,100) compared to York County (73,800). These two counties together represented 41.6 percent of all covered employment in Maine.
