The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has released the 30th episode of its bi-weekly podcast, “DEC Does What?!”. The episode, titled “Join Team DEC,” focuses on the agency’s personnel staff and their role in supporting nearly 3,400 employees as well as recruiting new talent for various roles within the organization.
Hosts Sean Mahar, DEC Region 4 Director, and Erica Ringewald, Chief of Staff, are joined by Alan Ilagan, Associate Director of Human Resources, and Natalie Joseph, Human Resources Specialist. The discussion highlights ongoing recruitment efforts to fill positions across all regions of New York State. They also discuss open exam announcements for Environmental Conservation Police Officers and Forest Rangers and explain how candidates can apply through the State’s Civil Service system.
