Once again, President Marvin Krislov of Pace University has released his annual winter playlist, sharing the songs that resonated with him throughout 2025. The curated list includes a variety of tracks spanning Broadway, Motown, pop, and classic rock.

“For Good” by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande is included as a nod to personal growth and those who have had an impact over the year. Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” is described as mysterious and powerful, suitable for the reflective period before the new year. The instrumental groove of Vulfpeck’s “Dean Town” offers students a break from finals stress.

Other selections include AJR’s “Bang!” for its energetic feel during late-night study sessions and Chappell Roan’s “Subway,” which captures a New York atmosphere. Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” is highlighted as an anthem for ambition, while Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” pays tribute to the city itself.

Motown classic “You’re All I Need to Get By” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell provides soulful comfort during academic tasks or downtime. Lola Young’s “Messy” addresses life’s complexities in a relaxed tone.

The playlist also features Leslie Odom Jr. and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s rendition of “Dear Theodosia” from Hamilton for its hopeful message and Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” for more introspective moments.

President Krislov stated that this selection aims to provide a soundtrack for reflection and celebration as students complete their semester or plan for 2026: “Whether you’re wrapping up finals, resting after a whirlwind semester, or mapping out big dreams for 2026—this mix is for you.”
