SBU Eats has introduced several changes to dining services at Stony Brook University for the new semester, focusing on updated menus, remodeled spaces, and expanded meal-ordering options. East Side and West Side dine-in locations have undergone renovations, resulting in more open and welcoming environments designed to encourage community among students and staff.

Nathan’s Famous has opened at East Side Dining with a table service feature. This new option allows guests to order from their phones by scanning a QR code at the table. Orders are then delivered directly by staff, eliminating the need for customers to wait in line. The menu includes classic items such as hot dogs and fried shrimp.

Coffee service has also been enhanced with the introduction of Nescafé Core Barista machines at multiple campus markets. These machines offer espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, hot chocolate, and other beverages with minimal waste through automated brewing.

A new grill concept called FLAME has launched in the SAC Food Court. The venue serves burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, and other comfort foods.

Food truck offerings have expanded as well. New additions include David’s Cookies Trailer for baked treats; Anona for quesadillas and smoothies; Chatime offering bubble teas; Halal Wayz with halal dishes; and Ain Food Truck serving Asian fusion meals.

Diana Kubik, executive director of Auxiliary Services Association, said: “At the heart of everything we do is our dedication to outstanding hospitality. Our team worked tirelessly over the summer, using valuable feedback from students, faculty, and staff to create dining spaces that are not only refreshed but truly welcoming. We’re excited to offer experiences where everyone feels at home and connected, building community one meal at a time.”
