The U.S. Census Bureau has published new data on geographic mobility and place of birth for 2024. The statistics, drawn from the 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates, provide insight into migration patterns across the United States.

The release includes a State-to-State Migration Flows table package with two main components. The first is a table that estimates the number of people moving between all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and those arriving in the United States from abroad. The second table offers estimates of current residents in these areas by their place of birth.

This information helps to track how populations shift within and into the country each year.
