The Winpisinger Center has announced the launch of its Online Steward Training program, set to begin on October 1. The training is designed for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person sessions at the center.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The program will run over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two topics. Sessions are scheduled three times per week to offer flexibility for participants.

The first week will address the role of the steward as well as steward rights and responsibilities, with sessions available on October 1, 2, and 4. The second week will focus on grievances and investigations, held on October 8, 9, and 11. The final week covers just cause and discipline cases along with contract cases and past practice; these sessions take place on October 15, 16, and 18.

All members in good standing who serve as stewards are eligible to register for the online program. Registration can be completed at the provided link or through other specified resources. Questions about the training can be submitted to the Winpisinger Center using a designated form.
